Creative, interesting and fun, putting together a puzzle is one of the all time favourite family activities. It’s a way to use your brain and to relax at the same time.

You can rush through on an rainy afternoon or take your time and complete it over a month. You can do other things simultaneously and leave the puzzle at any time and come back to it when you have time.

For many years, I bought jigsaw puzzles from Wal-Mart and other department stores. However, after a while, all of the store bought puzzles got boring and seemed somewhat the same. That’s when I discovered that you can have a photo puzzle made from a picture of my friends and family.

These photo puzzles gave new life to a tried and tested family activity. They combine the fun of looking through fond memories with the fun of solving a puzzle. It’s a type of jigsaw that you want to do more than once, and also to lend to your close ones.

An additional bonus is that you can make a puzzle from more than just one picture. You can create a photo collage of all of your favourite digital photos and have them tell a story of an event or a time in yours, or someone else’s, life. It makes a wonderful keepsake or gift for just about anyone.

All four of my boys had the same fourth grade teacher, a wonderfully efficient teacher and a very nice woman. What a wonderful gift I thought, to give her a picture collage of all four of my sons made into a jigsaw puzzle for her students to put together in the classroom during free time.

A photo collage puzzle is also ideal for celebrating a family reunion. These days we see a lot of reuniting going on between family and long lost friends. It’s easy enough to collect old photos from these websites and what better way to display them at your reunion that in the form of a photo collage.
